NAPLES AIRPORT AND GORDON PASS
Naples Jet & Yacht Charter:
KAPF to Gordon Pass.
Naples is where a South Florida flight and a Gulf yacht day can share one brief. KAPF is the airport. Gordon Pass, the City Dock and the bay marinas are the water. ALINARI coordinates the two without operating either.
Begin your charter brief
KAPF is a planning gateway. The aircraft in your quote is named by the operating carrier.
THE AIRPORT
What KAPF is for in a charter brief
Naples Airport is the practical private-aviation field for downtown Naples and the Gordon Pass yacht basin. Published references describe runway 05/23 at about 6,600 feet. Treat that length as a chart figure to confirm on the current diagram, not as permission for every turboprop, light jet or midsize cabin to land with your payload on a warm afternoon. A heavier long-range aircraft may be planned into a different South Florida field even when the yacht day is still in Naples.
U.S. Customs at a user-fee airport is a schedule, not a courtesy. If the arrival is international, the brief should say so and the operator should confirm apron hours for that date. A domestic flight from Teterboro or Chicago does not use the same clearance as a return from Nassau. Mixing those two cases is how a yacht boarding gets missed.
ALINARI does not derive a flight time from the distance to KAPF. The planning guide can show a great-circle distance and an assumed billable-hour band. Block time, winds and a possible fuel stop belong to the Part 135 operator. Indicative hourly bands on this site are planning ranges, not a locked KAPF fare.
| Boarding | Transfer band to confirm | What the yacht day can be | When to add a flight |
|---|---|---|---|
| City Dock and Tin City | About 12–18 minutes from KAPF | A short bay or Gordon Pass lunch cruise | When guests are already in Naples |
| Hamilton Harbor | About 12–18 minutes from KAPF | A day yacht with marina services | When the slip, not the beach, is the start |
| Gordon Pass | About 12–18 minutes, plus inlet timing | A Gulf day toward Keewaydin if the pass allows | When the pass, not the dock photo, is the plan |
| Key West | Not a drive from KAPF | A different yacht day after a short flight | When the Marquesas or KEYW is the real destination |
| Nassau or Exuma | A flight, not a taxi | A Bahamas week with its own marina | When the Naples yacht is only the Florida prologue |
THE WATER
Gordon Pass, Keewaydin and a realistic day
A Naples day yacht is usually a crewed motor yacht in the band described on the motor yacht guide. Four hours and eight hours are different fuel, crew and dockage problems. Eight hours is not four hours doubled in experience if the inlet, a slow no-wake zone or a late customs release consumes the first hour.
Keewaydin and the Gulf side of the pass are the usual geographic ambition. They are also weather-dependent. A captain can keep the boat in the bay when the Gulf is uncomfortable. The brief should say whether a protected bay day is acceptable or whether the Gulf is the entire point, in which case dates need a backup.
Draft and dock matter more than the brochure beam. Some Naples marinas take a different yacht than the one that looks right in a photograph. Name the party size, the toys and whether anyone needs a cabin for a changing room rather than an overnight. Overnight in Naples is a different contract from a day charter.
If the group wants the Bahamas in the same journey, keep the Naples boat and the island boat separate unless a passage is truly the request. Read the Exumas week and the South Florida to Nassau and Exuma flights as companion pieces, then tell the desk which one is the main event.
THE BRIEF
What Ross Alinari needs before he asks an operator
Write the date, the KAPF direction of travel, the number of guests, the marina and whether the yacht is four hours, eight hours or an overnight. Add luggage that changes the aircraft: golf clubs, dive gear, a case that will not fit a light-jet door. The desk would rather have an awkward bag in the first note than a surprise on the ramp.
Say if Palm Beach, Miami or Fort Lauderdale is the real departure and Naples is only the yacht. Those gateways have their own pages because the FBO, the drive and the customs pattern are different. A brief that says South Florida is not yet a plan.
ALINARI Air & Sea is an air charter broker and a yacht charter intermediary. All flights are operated by properly licensed direct air carriers. The yacht is not ALINARI’s boat. Two contracts, one coordinated brief, and no payment collected on this form.
PLANNING DOSSIER
Naples details that change the quote
A domestic KAPF arrival from the Northeast is often discussed with midsize or super-midsize cabins when winter headwinds and golf bags share the cabin. That is a hypothesis for the operator, not a category you have to accept before the payload is run.
A turboprop or very light jet can be the right Naples tool when the next leg is a short runway in the Bahamas and the Naples stop is only a pickup. Read the short-field table on the turboprop and very-light guide before assuming a stand-up cabin must do both jobs.
Hamilton Harbor, the City Dock and a private house dock are not the same driving minute and not the same draft. Put the slip name in the note if you have it. If you do not, say downtown Naples and let the captain propose a berth.
Tin City is a useful landmark for guests and a poor substitute for a marina contract. The yacht agreement names the dock. The landmark only helps the transfer driver.
Gordon Pass has a tide and a sea state. A late KAPF arrival can miss the sensible window to go outside. Build the yacht start after the aircraft is on the ground, customs is finished and the car has reached the dock.
Keewaydin lunch stops are a captain’s decision. Ask for them as a preference, and ask what the boat does if the beach is closed by weather. A good quote says so.
If children, a celebration or a quiet office call is part of the day, say which deck you care about. Flybridge noise and interior air conditioning are different products on the same hull.
Fuel for a Naples day is part of the yacht quote’s expense treatment, not part of the jet hourly band. Do not add the two and call it a package price.
A return flight the same evening needs a boarding cutoff that respects the pass, the drive and FBO screening. Same-day out and back is a timetable, not a vibe.
Positioning the aircraft into KAPF the night before can be wiser than a dawn departure from a distant home base. It can also add a cost. Ask the operator to show the positioning leg rather than folding it into a single vague hour.
Pets, if any operator and marina allow them, need to be in the first message. They change both the aircraft and the yacht, and some docks refuse them.
The desk email is charter@alinariairandsea.com. There is no telephone number on this site. A form note and an email reach the same person, Ross Alinari.
If the Naples yacht is only a prelude to a Saturday flight to MYEF, the Gordon Pass day should end early enough for bags to be repacked. A sunset cruise that returns after the FBO’s practical cutoff is how island weeks start without luggage.

NAPLES QUESTIONS
What to settle before a Naples air-and-sea day.
Is KAPF the same airport as APF?
Yes. Naples Airport is KAPF in ICAO form and APF as the short code used in conversation. Use both in a brief so the operator, the FBO and the yacht captain are talking about the same field.
How long is the transfer from KAPF to Gordon Pass?
Plan on about 12 to 18 minutes to the City Dock, Tin City, Hamilton Harbor or a Gordon Pass embarkation, traffic and the exact slip permitting. That band is a driving estimate, not a promise, and it does not include customs or FBO handling.
Can the same yacht continue to Key West or the Bahamas?
Sometimes as a separate passage, more often as a flight plus a different boarding. A Gordon Pass day yacht is not automatically the boat that meets you in Nassau or Key West. Say which pattern you want.
Who operates the flight and the boat?
The flight is operated by a properly licensed direct air carrier. The yacht is delivered by an independent owner and captain under a maritime charter agreement. ALINARI arranges both as a broker and does not own the aircraft or the vessel.
