SPACE, SERVICE AND A COMPLETE BRIEF

Large Motor Yacht Charter:
Multi-Deck Space, Crew & Island Reach.

A large motor yacht can place more choices into the planning process: different social spaces, a detailed cabin allocation, onboard service and the logistics of getting ashore. Give those choices a purpose. Explain which parts of the experience matter to your party instead of treating extra length as proof of greater suitability.

PRICING ORIENTATION

Large motor yacht weekly rate bands, APA & taxes.

Across weekly crewed catamarans & motor yachts, a broad planning range is ~$30,000–$150,000+ per week before charter taxes and APA. Vessel size, season and service shape the individual proposal.

Reviewed October 2026. ALINARI-selected planning bands reviewed alongside MYBA — charter agreement framework and IYC — luxury yacht charters for market and charter-term context. These are not published MYBA tariffs; the exact day band is ALINARI guidance. Bahamas yacht charters are subject to 10% Bahamas VAT and applicable Bahamas Port Department charter fees (confirmed per vessel in the written charter agreement). For multi-night plus-expenses charters, plan for 25%–35% APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance), subject to vessel terms; some require more. Applicable Florida sales/charter tax applies to Florida coastal charters. Explore the Planning & Pricing Guide.

THE ONBOARD EXPERIENCE

Multi-deck privacy, full crew & longer island itineraries.

Allocate accommodation deliberately

Start with the people staying aboard and the beds they need. Ask for the actual cabin plan, including the location of bathrooms and any difference between cabins. If several couples are traveling together, discuss whether equal accommodation is a priority. Keep crew accommodation separate from guest bedrooms. A four-cabin plan can contain different bed types and cannot be interpreted as four interchangeable suites.

Specify the service, not only the setting

Describe which meals should be prepared aboard, the atmosphere you want and the assistance needed for activities. Ask the provider to confirm the people and roles included in the arrangement. Discuss how the day would run between dining, quiet time and trips ashore. Do not infer a chef, particular hospitality level or uninterrupted service from the category name or an interior photograph.

Check movement aboard and ashore

Ask how guests reach each deck, the tender and the dock. If someone needs assistance, review the complete route, not only one lift or gangway feature. Confirm tender boarding, transfer arrangements and the practical implications of the proposed berth or anchorage. A larger vessel may create additional planning questions around shore access; it does not automatically remove them.

Turn amenities into confirmed items

Name the features that are essential: shaded dining, a particular activity, connectivity or a preferred place to relax. Ask whether each item is on the offered yacht, usable during your charter and included in the proposal. Discuss any extra equipment, supervision or separate provider. The same model may be fitted out differently, so a substitution requires a fresh check of the features that drove your choice.

BEFORE COMPARING QUOTES

Tender logistics, watersports inventory & provisioning.

Do not extrapolate a day rate

Ask about the vessel’s actual minimum term, start and finish times and any delivery or redelivery cost. A longer booking or shorter stay should be priced as a specific proposal, not assumed to be a simple fraction or multiple of an advertised week.

Keep guests and permissions distinct

The number of beds, people shown in a photograph and a manufacturer design figure do not establish the authorized passengers for your charter. Ask the operating provider to confirm the relevant arrangement and permitted party.

CATEGORY QUESTIONS

Questions to confirm on a large motor yacht proposal.

How should I compare a base fee with a package price?

Use the same dates, route, guests and service requirements. Compare the base charge, estimated running expenses and excluded items separately. Ask about applicable taxes, transfers, deposits and gratuity arrangements rather than applying a universal all-in multiplier.

What should I ask if the proposal uses an APA?

Request its calculation, the agreed spending categories, account updates, approval for additional funds and the final reconciliation process. Compare that arrangement alongside the base fee and other charges. The main yacht service guide explains the terminology; the actual agreement should establish the process.
